The implementation of Malindi Integrated Social Health Development Programme is uplifting the socio-economic development of Malindi and Magarini districts. The Programme implementation has been ongoing for the last two years covering four strategic sectors Education, Health, Water, Infrastructure and Fisheries, with the objective of improving the standard of living of the local residents.
The Programme is financed by the Italian Government through the Coast Development Authority, under the Ministry of Regional Development at a funding level of Kshs.240,000,000 (Euro 2,607,461.5).
In Ngomeni the Italian funds have supported the construction of a clinic to meet the needs of the population, the rehabilitation of the primary and secondary schools, a fishery centre with Cold Storage Facility for fish and offices.
This year the CDA is finalizing the construction and rehabilitation of public works like roads, a sea wall, boreholes, the rehabilitation of water system at Malindi District Hospital.
